How to start a diet as a kid?

My 9 year old cousin, is getting kind of overweight do you have any tips on healthy eating for kids?

Power Health Tips answers:

Your cousin needs to be eating plenty of protein, calcium, fruits, and veggies in order for proper growth. Cut out the fast foods, unhealthy snacks, candy, and soda. Replace with Healthy home cooked meals, healthy snacks (Carrot sticks, fruit salad, whole wheat bread topped with nutella or natural peanut butter, granola bars, etc…), and juice or milk to drink.

Encourage your cousin to go out and play instead of playing video games and watching TV.
Jumping rope, jumping on a trampoline, bicycling, roller skating, swimming, are all good options!
